Belmont Temporary Pool

Long Beach, CA

Aquatic Facilities

Known as the Aquatic Capital of America, the City of Long Beach will not only maintain that reputation, but also, elevate it with the development of the new Belmont Plaza Pool Aquatic Facility. The existing Belmont Plaza pool structure was demolished and a new state-of-the-art aquatic facility will be constructed on the same site.

In the interim, a temporary outdoor 52 m x 25 m, above ground Myrtha stainless steel pool has been constructed in order to provide continuous aquatic programming for the community of Long Beach. The new outdoor pool is located in the existing asphalt parking lot adjacent to the existing Belmont Plaza Pool. The pool is 3.5 feet deep on the shallow end, graduating to 6’-7” at the deep end.

Equipped with a moveable bulkhead, the pool can be programmed for a variety of swim events. An elevated concrete pool deck surrounds the pool, enclosed by 10’ high chain link fencing. Covered by decorative windscreen material, imprinted with bright, bold images of aquatic events around the world, the chain link fencing encloses the pool the stainless steel infrastructure of the concrete pool deck. Portable restroom/shower trailers, a ticket booth, accessible ramp, way finding signage, a
fabric shade structure, aluminum bleachers, sports lighting, walkways, and landscaping complete this unique outdoor aquatic facility.
