California Oaks Sports Park Pool Conceptual Plan

Aquatic facilities

RJM Design Group transformed the California Oaks Sports Park Pool into a cutting-edge aquatic facility designed to meet the community's evolving needs. Through a robust outreach process—including social media campaigns, a dedicated project website, virtual town halls, surveys, stakeholder interviews, site tours, pop-up events, and an interactive community design charrette—valuable input helped shape the final design.

The revitalized facility now features a 2,750 SF, single-story aquatics building equipped with essential amenities such as staff offices, a breakroom, locker rooms, and restrooms. The space also includes a lifeguard and first aid room, ensuring both safety and comfort. The renovated aquatic facility includes a dedicated 8-lane lap pool alongside a shallow water instructional area, providing ample space for both competitive swimming and swim lessons. An accessible pool entry ramp ensures individuals of all abilities can safely enjoy the water. A terraced artificial turf area, covered with shade structures, offers a comfortable space for relaxation and social gatherings. Additional group shade structures and private cabanas provide options for families and individuals seeking a more private retreat.

To support operations and visitor convenience, the facility also includes a separate pool equipment and chemical building that houses public restrooms and a concession stand. Two pre-fabricated pool equipment storage buildings are also on-site to ensure efficient maintenance and storage solutions. This state-of-the-art aquatic center now provides an inviting and functional space for recreation, fitness, and community gatherings — a true reflection of the community's vision.
