Holy Sepulcher Cemetery
Orange, CA
Cemeteries & Memorials
The Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in the City of Orange is located on the western edge of the Santiago Creek Open Space Corridor and enjoys dramatic canyon views to the South and East and neighboring horse properties to the North and West. RJM Design Group has assisted the Diocese of Orange for the last decade in developing a number of projects at the Cemetery, including new niche walls, cremation gardens, maintenance yard redevelopment and expansion, mortuary building development, and lawn expansions.
Lawn expansions have included pre-buried crypts as part of the developments, while niche gardens and walls have created additional interment options for the property. Thoughtfully designed cremation gardens integrate natural stone elements, colorful drought-tolerant plantings, and tranquil water features, providing a peaceful and reflective space for visitors. Meandering pathways of warm-toned pavers blend seamlessly with the landscape, guiding guests through gardens that incorporate a mix of native and ornamental plant species, enhancing the site's lush and serene ambiance.
Throughout all development projects, material selections have been intent on responding to the site’s natural character, serene setting, and lush appeal. Carefully placed boulders, seasonal flowering shrubs, and rippling water elements contribute to a sense of tranquility and permanence. Thoughtful consideration has been given to the overall site scale, tree and shrub palette, and open space feeling, ensuring that Holy Sepulcher remains a place of comfort, remembrance, and beauty.
