Community Centers
The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center has long been a hub for intergenerational engagement, offering dynamic programs and activities for all ages. Now, with an impressive 13,500-square-foot expansion, the center has elevated its offerings, introducing a state-of-the-art cultural and performing arts building that further enriches the community experience.
Nestled within the scenic Oso Viejo Park, the center seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor experiences, featuring grand terraces, pedestrian bridges, shaded gathering spaces, and picturesque creek overlooks. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, garden seating, a vibrant tot lot, Veterans Plaza, and direct connections to the beloved Oso Creek Trail, enhancing accessibility and outdoor recreation.
At the heart of the space, The Village Green serves as a versatile community asset. By day, it hosts two soccer fields, while its flexible design transforms it into a premier venue for large-scale community events and celebrations. Sustainability is also a key feature, with a dry creek bed bioswale thoughtfully incorporated to naturally filter runoff from the parking area and fields. Community-wide support has been developed and maintained through annual community events involving planting installations and the development of “public art” projects, including permanent mosaic installations located throughout the park and adjacent trail.
With its seamless integration of recreation, culture, and sustainability, the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center continues to be a vibrant gathering place that fosters connection, creativity, and well-being for generations to come.
